Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where is my USFA card?
Membership applications received at tournaments are simply forwarded to the national office by the Virginia division executive committee. These will usually be sent within two weeks of the competition. Once the membership forms are at there, the national office is responsible for the new membership cards. The time that this takes is variable. If a fencer is concerned about competing in another division or nationally before they receive their USFA card, they can:
    1. Renew or submit their USFA membership form during the summer to ensure that it is received before any competitions.
    2. Request a receipt for their membership from a bout committee member.
  • Why hasn't the USFA received my new classification?
Within two weeks of a tournament, fencer's classification changes are sent by the Virginia Division Secretary to the USFA national office. If a fencer is concerned about competing in another division or nationally before they receive their USFA card, they can:
    1. Request that a bout comittee member sign their USFA card and update it for the new classification.
    2. Request a copy of the classification change report sent to the USFA from the Virginia Division Secretary.
For national events, it is best to have the classification change report in order for changes to be acknowledged.
  • Why haven't the results of tournament 'X' been posted on the web site?
Once a tournament is over, the results are normally typed up by the division secretary and forwarded to the webmaster. Then they are posted to the website by the webmaster. Be patient.
